RhythmicLee Music Studios has been teaching students for over ten years, and each year we continue to expand throughout Southern California. Our proven teaching methodology and high success rate is why many of our students refer their friends to us. Drum lessons are at our studio or at your home.    

What We Mean by "Modern Drumming"

Today's most popular songs are predominantly rock-based, meaning a heavy back-beat, prevalent electric and bass guitars, hook-based melodies driven by powerful vocals, and often keyboards. The songs may fall into categories such as pop rock, alternative rock, country rock, Latin rock, progressive rock or adult contemporary rock.

You can hear these rock-based elements in many styles of music recorded by artists as diverse as Usher, P!nk, Foo Fighters, Kenny Chesney, Death Cab For Cutie, Rihanna, Coldplay, Toby Keith, Rise Against, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, The Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias and many others.

At RhythmicLee Music Studios we teach this modern approach to drumming, starting with basic music notation, skill- and confidence-building warm-ups, playing beats that fit 80% of popular songs, and learning to play specific songs (co-chosen by student and teacher). These songs are often the ones students choose to perform during our annual music recitals called Students-on-Stage Shows. Unlike other places where you can "take lessons, we are not a nationwide Internet telemarketing company. Such places charge their students high rates, and pay their (usually young and inexperienced) teachers only a third of the lesson fee. We think that's wrong.
